I wanted to add to my previous comment, if you don't mind.

If you are feeling very desperate and hopeless; if you are immobilized by depression, you must get immediate help. Hopelessness can take a person to the depths of hell, and sometimes a person can believe that the only way out of their pain and fear is to die.

This is the worst lie. It's simply irrational. You must be willing to tell yourself that there is very, very much you do not know about yourself, God and life... and that you deserve to discover all the beauty and truth.

You must be willing to believe that help is available for you.

In fact, Susan, I am sure that many professional "people-helpers" read of your plight and want to reach out to you, another beautiful human being who is struggling. It's really simple, you know, to call a help-line, to call a hospital, to even call the police. It's very easy to open the phone book and locate a local therapist or counselor. That's how I did it, and it changed my life. No, things aren't rosy all of the time; I can even get depressed. But I can bring myself out of it most of the time; I know when I need to reach out for help now. I know that I don't deserve to be full of self-loathing and fear.

I know that:

God does not give me the spirit of fear, but of
Power, Love and a Sound Mind.

God must have a special purpose for you, Susan: here you are, thrust into the spotlight because of your beautiful voice. Your mother has passed on (I am so sorry), and you are constantly receiving admiring emails, and note, too, that you receive emails from people who identify with you! Something great is at work here, Susan.

Dear Susan:

I just read an article where your brother says you're having a difficult time; that you are afraid of being alone. I think what you are saying is that you don't want to be lonely.

Being alone (i.e., either in one's apartment, or, as in not being married) does not condemn one to loneliness; it simply does not automatically equate to loneliness.

And, whether or not you want to believe it, many, many people in marriages, many folks surrounded by folks at work and even in churches (as well as those many, many people who happen to be celebrities) are painfully, constantly lonely. Your fame has brought you many gifts, but those gifts really do not soothe the lonely heart. (I hope that you do not feel guilty about your loneliness; I hope that you do not beat up on yourself about it.)

Dear Lady, please step back and look at your loneliness as a condition that God does not want for you, that you do not deserve, that you share with many people. Chronic loneliness can be "cured," as it is one of the sad or tragic effects of being human and being raised by imperfect humans - which is to say, there is SO MUCH HELP (LOVE) available to you!

Some people can find the answer / healing out of their plight with God's Word. Others, like myself, find their way with therapy. And then God's Word.

As I like to observe: children make very unscientific conclusions based on their experience. Those conclusions become our beliefs (what we believe to be true). If they're not true, they cause extreme pain and dysfunction as we move through the years. TRUTH FREES, LIES DESTROY.

So, dear Susan, your mission is to search for TRUTH. There you will find love, and there, you will learn to love.

I bought one your cds and love it so much. Both my parents are now gone and I miss my mom so much it seems so like yesterday. I know where you are coming form with loneliness. My mom was my closeest friend and I'm married but a very wise woman once told me you only have one mom. Your mom must have been pretty special to have raised such a careing and kind person. I was going to suggest you to get a cat as I know mine are special and great listeners and seem to know when we need them most. I feel badly at home things are getting you down at present but remember God has a special place for you and there is a reason you are where you are at present. Your mom would be so proud. I enjoy you hymns on the cd I have so much and the strange thing is I'm only a couple of years older then you and am not really into that music even though I used to go to church and was raised the christian way. I do get great comfort listening to you sing some of the hymns as they were some of my parents favorites. God bless you and keep you in his care.

I honestly don't know where to begin trying to express my thoughts and feelings about you without crying. From the moment I heard about you and watched your original audition on U-Tube, I have been mesmorized. You personify everything good and beautiful this world is looking for!! I purchased your CD the moment it hit the stores and cannot put it down (just ask my family)-ha! It is the best de-stressor in the world and you have the most heavenly pure voice...sometimes you truly sound like an angel from above.

Please, please, please don't let anyone change the person you are because THAT PERSON is who we all fell in love with and the wonderful person our Heavenly Father created exactly the way He wanted. Hello, my name is Reyna, I'm Mexican married with an American man, one day I was watching in the news about you then I called my husband to let him know what I saw and specially what I had listened!! We looked later for the video on internet and we really enjoyed seeing you there in front of that people, we saw the video many times, and Susan, to me, you were singing like an angel, like a fresh water in the desert, since then, we admire you.

Then some nigths after, we were waiting to see you again on TV, and...wow!! suddenly you gave us such surprise since you started to sing one of our favorites songs, "Wild Horses" Oh-my-God!! what a voice you have!!! (after that, it is not the same singing that song in our karaoke machine, but that's ok you did perfect)

I think Susan's voice is amazing but more amazing than her voice is Susan Boyle herself. I am not sorry that she did not "win" because just like her courage to stand up and be her true self, she taught us to look past our judgements and also to see that winning can come in many forms. I think this CD is obviously a "win".

I am grateful for the Susan Boyle who taught us all to dream again, to never give up on ourselves and to believe in our goodness. A Susan Boyle that gives us hope and renews our faith in the beauty of humanity.

Because of our economic situation, unemployment, failing health care system and corporate controlled government many of us living in the United States needed to see that ordinary people can accomplish extraordinary things. Susan you give us hope!

Please do at least two more CD's. One for those of us who are not christian and one for those who are.

Your CD is a delight, my copy has been played so often you can almost see through it, and I think those I gave as Christmas presents have met the same fate.
I have followed your progress since that awesome debut on BGT; the UTube rendition of that has been bookmarked and played more times than I remember. Your voice is glorious, and you are an inspiration to all.
I was disappointed when you did not win the quest, but you have gone on to show that winning is not everything.
I believe a trip to Australia is on the agenda. I truly hope it is, and if this is so, I plead with you, please, please include Adelaide in your schedule. You have so many admirers here, you would have no trouble filling up our Entertainment Centre several times.
Besides, it is time the Ent Cent saw some real talent!!

Dear Susan:

I was so happy for you when you blew the roof off the Britan's Got Talent show I cried. I was blessed enough to see the clip and the faces of those in the audience who had judged you before they had even given you a chance to show the real you. It took courage and guts, and a little bit of humor. You truly are a real life Cinderella story and I believe you stand for those of us who have more to give, but the wrong package to present it with. As a semi-retired professional musician/vocalist, I have often been told my voice does not match my looks. A friend told me once that's why I didn't make it. I don't photograph well. I think you have shown me they have it all wrong...the songs are exactly who we are, people just can't see the forest, for the trees.

There is a song that always makes me cry. It was done in the seventies by Janis Ian and is called At Seventeen - that song is my story...the ugly duckling with the soft, smooth and tender voice inside that no one picked for anything. If you gave it a listen, I'm sure you would like it too and I think you would do it much justice. Keep life in perspective and don't let what anyone says, especially the media, hurt your pride or feelings. They are a pretty shallow bunch. They can be your best friend one moment and enemy just as quickly. Karen Carpenter found that out the hard way.

I wish you a Happy Christmas and all the Blessings for health, happiness and more albums to come in the New Year. I am really enjoying this first one I got for Christmas and love the selections on it. I lot of my personal favorites for sure.
