Fans Want to Read About Rumors and Bad Reviews.

There was an incident that a website member freaked out on me. I mean, she FREAKED. The reason was that I posted some articles that she didn't approve of. She said they were rumors.

I would like to make it clear that this is a fan site to have fun and understand Susan Boyle 100%. This is not a religion. The only way to really understand Susan Boyle is to read everything people are talking about, even the bad press.

There are rumors, there are bad reviews.
Fans want to know about these things. I want to know. Don't you?

If my brother is in jail for shoplifting, I want to know about it. Don't tell me he's on European vacation. Don't tell me that media set him up.

When Susan dropped F bombs, those news was supposed to be posted here. Fans were keep refusing to believe that incident ever happened. Either way, that was a significant news that fans want to read about. But *some* fans wanted me to take them off this website. That was not right.

Fans need to know the whole story and work together to support Susan Boyle. How can we understand Susan 100% when we don't know what's going on in the media.

And why some fans believe media is out to "Get" her? Since Susan Boyle, 90% of all newspapers became conspirators. As if media has nothing better to do. If they hear anything negative they blame media. That's not a healthy way to support Susan Boyle.

I cannot satisfy people who take Susan Boyle as a religion.

If there are bad reviews? they will be posted here, and we will boo the bad press. That will give us reason to send more love to Susan Boyle.

If Susan makes mistakes? It will be just another chapter. We have to take it as is. Don't blame media. Susan didn't like Shaheen? I didn't like him either. Susan said a few F words... so what? I do that all the time.

So, don't freak out on me.
This is not a religion.

Thank you.

John.

Re: Fans Want to Read About Rumors and Bad Reviews.

I do think people want to feel free to deal with that kind of thing. That is why I can't stand the OTHER website--they want everything sweet and sugar-coated. I had a chiding note from one monitor for that site who said we should never say anything we wouldn't want Susan to read. (I had suggested that she might have been super-protected by her parents, who may have seen her as vulnerable to exploitation, and that I therefore found it likely that she was in fact, still "unkissed." I did not think this was a very offensive thing to have said--"Susan Boyle IS a virgin!"--but I decided than and there that I could not deal with that site. They HAVE made it a religion!)

I am concerned for her, I am interested in her and what happens to her, and I wish she could have more protection from the world. Which is doubtless how her parents felt. But she is out in the world now, and she can't escape her fame. And I think she needs to realize that that what she does will be reported by eyes that may not be friendly, like the Heathrow incident. But I do think she is wired a bit differently, and that not every odd thing she says or does can be ascribed only to her sense of humour, however robust it may be. She would have been well advised not to engage in such antics, and does not seem to have the self-inhibiting brake that would tell her that for herself. So one worries for her--but I want to hear about it and feel free to discuss it, or even to say it was a foolish thing to do. That is what makes it interesting to be a fan--you feel invested all the way!

Re: Fans Want to Read About Rumors and Bad Reviews.

Susan is truly a blessing in my life. She uses her talent the good Lord gave her and I want all her music.

Re: Fans Want to Read About Rumors and Bad Reviews.

Why do people have to get all weird when someone is famous? It's like how for ages people tried to pretend that politicians are perfect. Now we know that they aren't. It was a ridiculous expectation anyway, as it is with any person: they are human. They have all the human functions and the imperfections and we should expect that from anyone. I believe in treating everyone with respect and I certainly don't think there is any decent purpose in making a big deal out of a person showing their humanity once in a while. I've heard many a preacher say dirty words back in their individual office when frustrated with some aspect of work. When people are real, not trying to be either perfect or shocking, I think we get the best gift. I don't think hearing someone use the f-word necessarily changes the fact that a person is good, kind, talented or anything else. Sometimes nothing will express what you are feeling as well as that word. If using dirty words constantly or excessively when speaking in public, I would probably be concerned about a lack of maturity or disturbance or that the person is too stressed. I don't care what people post but junk like that isn't an issue for me.

Re: Fans Want to Read About Rumors and Bad Reviews.

@John - This is not a religion.

I had wondered about that.
at the end of her 2nd BGT performance (memories).
I thought it was interesting, the imagery that was presented.
standing in the clouds, with a halo of streaming lights projecting..
with the voice of an _____.
no religious overtones there.
'a new day has begun.'

some people have cult charisma, she definitely does.

@junebug
a new religion? nah.
maybe just Religion 2.0

(*no arguments here. hope I don't get deleted.)

Re: Fans Want to Read About Rumors and Bad Reviews.

Susan Boyle is a new religion. She is the New Joan of Arch. This is why she is hated by special interest religions and those who would put women down. I took ancient history and the first God was a women. So why do the major religion have a man as the supreme being. Yes Susan Bolye has a profound philosophocal and theological meaning.
So if you like to put women down and/or think any religion is more special than another, please explain.
So in a bizarre way, she is a remaking of the first religion of women being the creators.

Re: Fans Want to Read About Rumors and Bad Reviews.

Joly
I assume that fans want their good and bad news to be factual. When there is as much evidence of a smear campaign as presently exists, what kind of fan prefers negative untruth to innocent truth? I am not talking about whether or not Susan swore at some point, I do not see the earth shaking because of it. But why did she swear, what were the events around it and following it in the reporting, that is a genuine story.

Re: Fans Want to Read About Rumors and Bad Reviews.

Well, I don't read tabloids and nonsense media. It is just a waist of time. I rather have class media. And anytime you cannot hesitate to launch a counterattack on behalf of Susan, they are grinning. YOU did visit the site and you saw the commercial adverts there. They are megatrolls. For pooperazi and trashbloids is one medicine Photobucket They are responsible for princess Diana's Death. Ugly people, to be ignored and to be never visited.

Re: Fans Want to Read About Rumors and Bad Reviews.

I'd just like to make the comment that I like John's stance that Susan is not a religion. I admire and am interested in Susan's progress in her career as a singer and I'm also interested in her personal life (of what has been reported e.g. her hometown, Pebbles, her family, background etc.) but I'm not here to worship Susan because she is human and she would probably be appalled to read on some sites that she has been set up as a goddess. That is a no-no in christianity (only worship the one God and something about idols?). As a fan, I only want to follow (not obsess over) Susan's career, leave the protecting to God.

Re: Fans Want to Read About Rumors and Bad Reviews.

Hi, I'm new at this site and have never even registered for a fan site before.

However, Susan is special. You know what I want to read about her? That she is at peace. I want to read that she is happy first and foremost! Second, I want a cd. I would love to get a cd with her singing the songs she sang on Britain's Got Talent.

So for all the gossip about the poor yet very blessed woman is just stuff. When people start looking at her, as said above, as a person, a human, then perhaps the negatives will stop. I know that is wishfull thinking for we are ALL flawed and for some reason people love to find the bad in others instead of the good.

I long to read postivies about her and please let us know when she records a cd. She is doing one isn't she? I read somewhere Simon signed her, is this true or gossip?

It's good to be here and thanks for this site. My prayers go out to her.

Re: Fans Want to Read About Rumors and Bad Reviews.

What I don't like are the French Showbiz magazines saying Susan can sing privately for people (marriages, parties) for about 9500 € for four songs...
Wait a minute... that is absolutely insane !
We know Susan wants to make a living from her singing but to ask such a fee ?
I don't know what to think...

I once commented on such a showbiz magazine (talking falsely about the reason why Susan went to Priory) and my comment was never published !

Re: To John:Tabloid Rumors Or Shaheen's Own Words In Interview

To John.....
If Susan didn't like Shaheen then why did Susan & Shaheen have Breakfast together (no one else) every morning when they were staying at the Wembley Plaza Hotel before the Finals...?

This is not a Rumor or Lie, this was a Quote from Shaheen in a Video interview of Shaheen as he was asked about Susan's supposed outburst in the Lounge of the Hotel they were both staying at.
He said he knew nothing about it and added that they have been having Breakfast together every morning and gave Susan his total support.
This is what alot of us are questioning.

I will never believe Tabloids reports myself but I will tend to always believe the individual speaking his own words on an Interview that we are watching at the time...
I don't know about anyone else but I'll believe Shaheen and I don't think he'd say all of this in his interview if there was any truth at all to reports that Susan didn't like him....
He didn't have to say anything at all but made a special point of expressing his support for Susan and saying that she was a wonderful and gracious Lady.

If somebody didn't like me then I know I wouldn't make a "special point" to support them, I'd say nothing at all one way or the other..!

Re: To John:Tabloid Rumors Or Shaheen's Own Words In Interview

I agree with you 100% You CANNOT & SHOULD NOT believe EVERYTHING you read in the newspapers.

Also when Susan misses a show, it's big news, when some of the others in the show "Have a day off" nothing is mentioned.........

I do feel for Susan, because I do not believe that this particular show is right for her. (I have purchased tickets for when the show comes to my hometown in Bournemouth however!)

The audience are far too rowdy, no wonder she becomes nervous, she has only previously been "Background" in bars & been basically ignored when she sang! Now suddenly 1000's of "Fans" (?) are screaming & shouting (sometimes) all through the songs! it must be near nigh impossible to concentrate on the lyrics & the performance, many "Seasoned Performers" would crumble under the stress & pressure of it all.

For an amateur Susan is doing a great job............

All good Wishes

Re: To John:Tabloid Rumors Or Shaheen's Own Words In Interview

I agree Mike.

The audiences are so crazy about her, they scream and shreak, and it's exhausting to be up on stage with all of that noise and try to perform. She probably can't hear her own self!

The world is hungry for her talent, her purity and her heart, but she needs to give her gift with all the care to save her self in the process, a delicate balance.

Why do I feel like I'm defending myself?

All I want is for this website to talk about ALL susan boyle news. Good and bad.

Most fans want to know about everything - good, bad, and rumors.
That's it.

Re: To John:Tabloid Rumors Or Shaheen's Own Words In Interview

It's all good. They are all interesting stories.
:)

Re: Fans Want to Read About Rumors and Bad Reviews.

Hi John,

Thumbs Up ....On your different sites and most of all your posts are very interesting. Sure want to know all about Susan regardless of what it's about, the good, the bad. Far as the F words I'd be saying much more with all the commotion going on. Now the dirt has settled a bit and I'm sure Susan has been given much insight on what to expect.

Re: Fans Want to Read About Rumors and Bad Reviews.

Your position regarding this site is fine John. I think Joy's response seems extreme, but she was probably just feeling over-protective of Susan because of her mild disability making her seem a bit fragile. Actually a fan site like this is the forum to bring everything out in the open. I have never read anything about her that has turned me against her.

She is marvelous and inspiring. She is the feel good story of the year, like electing a competent, black president was in '08. Same kind of phenomenon. Mankind is maturing and throwing away silly notions about appearances etc. Yay to that.

Take care.

Re: Fans Want to Read About Rumors and Bad Reviews.

Agree with you Barb,

Think what is happening here is that the 'criticisms' of the press are having the opposite effect now (backlash against them, not Susan).

As Susan is someone we feel comfortable with and can all identify with, we are much more protective of her and any derogatory comments are going to make us defend her even more.

Besides Susan's beautiful voice, she has that special 'magic' which has captured the hearts of the world. What a great 'world diplomat' she is!

Hope she will be able to sing for President Obama sometime in the future. They would get along famously together! :)

Re: Fans Want to Read About Rumors and Bad Reviews.

Hi Christine! She is supposed to perform for Obama! I think she's going to perform on the 4th of July at the White House. Hope they will televise that.

Re:I Hope Wiser Minds Prevail..Keep Susan Away From Politics

Personally myself I hope that this doesn't happen.
Keep Susan out of the Political Arena.
I think that if there were to be a proper time for Susan to perform in front of any Head of State it would be if Obama made a visit to the UK and attended a Charity event as the Guest of the Queen and Susan performed in front of both in her own native UK.

The only one that would benefit by Susan performing in front of Obama would be Obama and it would be him using Susan's World Wide Fame and not the other way around.
Those that think otherwise are being extremely naive.
Once any Performer, even Susan, steps into the Political Arena no matter how innocent the performance may seem they immediately put a "Huge Target" on their back and they become easy game for every idiot Blogger and Trash Tabloid not just in Britain but all over the World.

Susan does not need to put herself in the middle of Media abuse again whether it's from the left, right or the middle.
No matter what you do or how well you do it, if it's a Political situation you CAN NOT WIN as a performer or entertainer...

Please keep Susan out of the partisan Political Arena.
The Queen is a Figure Head and is not involved in the daily politics of Britain and that's why performing in front of her Queen is an entirely different senario.....

Bob,Palm Springs,Ca.USA

Re:I Hope Wiser Minds Prevail..Keep Susan Away From Politics

I totally agree...keep away from politics at all costs! Those who dislike a politician will see the performer as supporting that politician and will turn on the performer for it. Can't win that way!

Those who say we should print all the gossip about Susan, I ask you to be sure that it was true. Do we actually have it on tape that Susan said an F-word, for instance? Or that she fell apart? Or that something was reported in context? The press can say anything at all, and we don't have to take it as the truth. Funny how none of this is actually shown in the context in which it was supposed to occur.

As greedy and obnoxious as the press is, I know I for sure would have a few F-words after awhile, or maybe break the camera on his head!

Re:I Hope Wiser Minds Prevail..Keep Susan Away From Politics

Okay Bob. Here's the thing. Obama is president of the whole nation. He isn't any longer a democratic candidate. He is President. To turn down the invitation might seem like an anti-American attitude rather than a choice to be non-partisan. I don't consider this political at all.

All of America will be celebrating JUly 4th, including Palm Springs CA. So Susan Boyle will be helping us celebrate at the nation's First Home, the White House.

Let her sing for heads of state once in a while. I agree she's awe-inspiring at love ballads so we should see plenty of tours and CD's for this. That's a given. But hey, if she wants to help all of America enjoy their big day, she should go for it.

Re:I Hope Wiser Minds Prevail..Keep Susan Away From Politics

Barb In Iowa...
I believe that we elected Obama to be President of All of America but so far all I see is an Individual that feels it's more important to be a Celebrity Personality to the Entire World rather then be President of All of America..
If and when he gets over himself and worries more about the Problems of America & the World rather then how many times he can make "Guest Appearances" on TV (and I don't mean the News Network Shows) then I'll grant your point.

I personally feel with what the Media in Great Britain & Europe have already contributed to Susan's breakdown...The more she stays out of the Politica Arena the better...That's one place NO Entertainer or Celebrity comes out of un-scathed....
Knowing Obama and just so he can be in the Spotlight too, he'd probably insist on it being a Duet and not a Solo by Susan....

Also remember it's America's 4th of July not Britain's or the rest of the Worlds....I believe there are enough American Singers and Entertainers to choose from to Perform for the President on 4th of July that it's not a necessity for Susan to put herself in that position...
If they're insisting or requesting Susan then you can bet your "Stimulus Money" that it's only to capitalize on Susan's Fame and has nothing to do with helping to Celebrate the American 4th of July...I would think performing in front of her Queen should come first over performing in front of the "Colonies President".
To think different Barb would be extremely naive of you and you just don't sound that naive to me.
This is JMO and it just happens to differ greatly with yours...
With Respect,
Bob,Palm Springs,Ca.USA

Re: Fans Want to Read About Rumors and Bad Reviews.

Oh gosh! It would be terrific if they would televise it!

-- Here's hoping! ;)

Re: Fans Want to Read About Rumors and Bad Reviews.

Hi John!

Saw that post from Joy last night but didn't have time to answer it right away. She was obviously very upset.

Would like to say in your defense, that at one point you (admin.?)were going to close down the site after the BGT finals were over. Because a lot of enthusiastic fans wanted you to continue this site, you very kindly agreed to keep it going irrespective of the work involved in maintaining it.

Frankly, I think this site is great and I appreciate hearing everything that is going on regarding Susan.

What we all must acknowledge is that Susan is human, like everyone else. Like us, she has her likes and dislikes and 'other' side too. I'm sure that if everyone is perfectly honest there is not one of us who has not, at one time or another, used the 'F' word either out loud or silently to ourselves. In view of the provocation, I don't blame Susan one iota for sounding off.

I love Susan and wish her the very best. I know that this site is not 'out to get her' and wish the administration the very best also. :)

Re: Fans Want to Read About Rumors and Bad Reviews.

On the subject of bad reviews, there is sometimes a grain of truth hidden away in some of the reports but is isn't always what it might seem. Concerning the reported swearing incident, I heard Piers Morgan say in a radio interview the day after it was reported that her comments were not aimed at any member of the public but at a pair of "gutter press" reporters who were deliberately trying to wind her up and see how far they could push her and as a result she gave them a mouthfull.

Re: Fans Want to Read About Rumors and Bad Reviews.

Jimmytheone
Piers Morgan one of the BGT judges was the subject of a quite hard hitting interview where it was suggested that the BGT contestants (including Susan) are being "used". Being a former newspaper editor, he gave as good as he got, here is the link:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/programmes/hardtalk/8102622.stm
When you get to this webpage, there are 4 interviews on it and the one concerning Susan is the second one down. I hope those of you in the US & Canada can access this without any problems.
I did search for a YouTube link but without success.
