SUSAN Boyle's rags-to-riches story reminds Elaine Paige of her most famous character Evita, the musicals queen said yesterday.
Elaine, 61, said she also saw echoes of her own rise to stardom in the Scots spinster who became a global phenomenon on Britain's Got Talent.
As Susan, who named Elaine as her heroine at her BGT audition, prepares to release her first album, Elaine said she felt very emotional when she first watched Susan on YouTube.
She told Yours magazine: "I found it rather emotional, a rags to riches kind of story - a bit like Evita herself. But it was more than that.

Paige on Comparing Susan to Evita
Elaine Paige said very kind and gracious words for and about Susan. I guess the character of some of these songbirds really shines through in how they see our fave nightengale. Soem show jealousy with sour grapes, and others show the opposite. Elaine is obviously in the latter category.
