Henry: no regrets over 'retard' remark

Breakfast TV host Paul Henry is unrepentant about calling Scottish singing sensation Susan Boyle "retarded" and claims he is the victim of an orchestrated campaign by the IHC.

Speaking yesterday for the first time about the complaints which followed his on-air remarks on Monday, Henry said he could not see what he had done wrong, and that it was fine to use the term retarded about people with intellectual disabilities. "The remarks I made were specifically with regard to Susan Boyle and they were light-hearted," he said.

On Breakfast on Monday when reading a piece from a women's magazine about the runner-up in the show Britain's Got Talent, Henry laughed as he described how Boyle was "starved of oxygen at birth" and suffered an intellectual disability.

Re: Henry: no regrets over 'retard' remark

Get your panties out of a bunch guys, Paul Henry is in fact hilarious, and if you look closely you can actually see it. So time to build a bridge and get over it and lighten the hell up.

Re: Henry: no regrets over 'retard' remark

Henry - I hope you get hit very f**** hard on the head or are starved of oxygen yourself - lets see how far you can make it then, but you know what you are already a first rate idiot - so no need for the former.

Re: Henry: no regrets over 'retard' remark

I live in New Zealand and can tell you that Paul Henry is a first rate fool; both insensitive and extremely rude - and always with a stupid grin on his face.

I strongly recommend Susan Boyle takes sues him for defermation of character and takes him to the cleaners through her lawyers. This guy deserves to be taken down - big time.

Re: Henry: no regrets over 'retard' remark

Susan Boyle looks like she has down syndrome imho (Paul Henry was just stating the obvious). I still love her singing though.

Re: Henry: no regrets over 'retard' remark

Actually, Susan does not have the appearance of Downs Syndrome. I say this as a registered nurse working with developmentally disabled. So the obvious thing that I see is that he made a very public and inaccurate proclamation of her mental abilities. I'm not sure what his purpose was except that he wanted to get compelling language out there to grab the listener. Well Amanda Holden and Sharon Osborne have learned that doesn't work. I'm not sure if he will learn however.

Have a great day all. Worked nite shift and am soooo tired.

G'day what Paul Henry did was playoff retard as a medical term hoping to get away with it. Here's the video of what he did:
