A massive row has broken out in New Zealand after former BBC host Paul Henry called Susan Boyle "retarded".
Talking on his TV show this week Henry laughed as he described how the global superstar was "starved of oxygen" at birth and suffered an intellectual disability.
"Here's the really interesting revelation," he said, "she is in fact retarded .

Agreed you guys. It's so outrageous that he still thinks his actions were faultless. I'm not at all worried about Susan. She is so strong and has such support, she will always some out a winner. It's just so sad to me that people cling self righteously to ignorance. I tend to have a sensitivity here because of my work, and I can't stand to see these callous statements. Susan is so far from retarded it's absolutely absurd.

If Susan is 'retarded', then so is one of the discoverers of DNA! - They have the same IQ! If he is insulting Susan, then he is insulting one of the people who changed the face of modern science!

Maybe if seeing nothing wrong with his comment is Paul Henry's response to his previous comments on Susan being retarded then I suggest that maybe Paul Henry is the one that's RETARDED.
This is a word that should never be used in an intelligent and informed society and I would suggest that it even be removed from the English Dictionary.
There are just so many other better "adjectives" that can now be used by everyone to describe the mentally challenged individuals in our Society.
Paul Henry's comment is just plain UGLY and uncompassionate at the very least and he certainly does owe Susan a "Sincere" apology
