Elaine Paige has backtracked over remarks she made about singing sensation Susan Boyle.

Paige dismissed SuBo, who achieved a lifetime's ambition when she duetted with Miss Paige in a version of I Know Him So Well on her very own TV show as 'a virus that swept the world'.

But last night, she told The Daily Mail: 'I wasn’t referring to Susan herself; I was referring to the speed of her fame spreading as fast as a worldwide viral marketing campaign.'
