She said “I’ve come to sing for you” in a guileless open way
Her voice was a beacon of hope and joy-
She was golden on that day.
Our spirits sang along with her
As we revelled in the sound
And she took us to a place of dreams
Where love and grace abound.
And she sang about tigers
That come in the night
With voices like thunder
Full of hatred and spite.
And her voice transcended the lines about fear,
About how you’re quaking when terror is near.
How you need all your faith and your trust in the right
When the dark days appear, and you can’t see the light.
And the tigers were listening from their perilous hole
And envy, greed and ridicule besieged her simple soul.
But Susan stood fast, and did her bit
In her own words , she “just got on with it”.
She did herself proud and did us proud too -
Dear Susan, we can’t get enough of you.
We hope you can feel the support that this sends
We want you to know - yes - you are “among friends” .
Friends wishing for you only all that is best......
Now the ordeal has passed and at last you can rest.
Don’t forget us, we’re waiting until you pull through,
To hear “I’m Susan Boyle - come to sing for you!"
