Elaine page - Memory
Elaine Paige (born 5 March 1948) is an English singer and actress best known for her work in musical theatre. Raised in Barnet, North London, Paige attended the Aida Foster stage school and made her first professional appearance on stage in 1964. Her appearance in the 1968 production of Hair marked her West End debut.
Following a number of roles over the next decade, Paige was selected to play Eva Perón in the first production of Evita in 1978, which brought her to the attention of the broader public. For this role, she won the Laurence Olivier Award for Performance of the Year in a Musical. She went on to originate the role of Grizabella in Cats and had a Top 10 hit with "Memory", a song from the show. In 1985, Paige released "I Know Him So Well" with Barbara Dickson from the musical Chess, which remains the biggest-selling record by a female duo. She then appeared in the original stage production of Chess, followed by a starring role in Anything Goes which she also co-produced. Paige made her Broadway debut in Sunset Boulevard in 1996, playing the lead role of Norma Desmond, to critical acclaim. She appeared in The King and I from 2000 to 2001, and six years later she returned to the West End stage in The Drowsy Chaperone. She has also worked in film and television.

Re: Who is Elaine Page?
It was reported that, after Susan Boyle's perfomance on TV, Elain Page's inbox started to get flooded.
Elaine said: “It looks like I have competition! Perhaps we should record a duet.”
Then she pledged her support to Susan Boyle
Well... at least that's what she said to the reporters. You know how it is.

Thanks to Susan and YouTube, people all over the world now know who Elaine Paige is and we now have to share this national treasure of ours with millions of people who have previously never heard of her. The YouTube comments for this video and the one with her on stage in Cats are awesome, a man in Texas said that he had just returned from a music store with some of her CD's having seen Elaine for the first time, that's amazing isn't it?

Grateful Moment of Appreciation to Susan Boyle
Dear Susan,
As a fellow baby boomer I applaud your love of singing, your spirit, spunk and courage. You are an inspiration for us all to share our voices and let our heart soar in song.
I am grateful to you for inspiring me, too.
Love and Blessings to you in this new adventure. It certainly will be that!
From 'a woman of a certain age', also a singer who has hidden her light under a bushel basket long enough, and who is led by your grace, humility and joy of singing to also leap out there again.
Sent to you with love, from the USA in Hollywood. Come to sing on American Idol and walk the Red Carpet for you deserve it!
It is never to late to live your dream!

Susan's Next Song
I read in an interview that she plans to sing "Whistle Down the Wind", a strange, haunting, beautiful song from the musical of the same name. I'm looking forward to it.
Re: Susan's Next Song
Yeah , whatever she sings is OK with me !She definitely is a better singer than E. Paige .
